Jim Cordova stepped on stage last Saturday displaying his trademark freaky size and thick, full muscle bellies that appear as though they should be displayed by a super heavyweight instead of a middleweight. His incredible and overwhelming size earned Jim a tough-fought second place in the middleweight division. Rodney Helaire came to the competition Saturday gunning full force for the top placing in the heavyweight class. This elite competitor’s peeled-to-the-bone conditioning sent a message to all other competitors and helped him earn a first-place finish in his weight class. This impressive outing for these two professionals drives home the fact that no matter what federation they compete in, one thing stays constant: The athletes of Team MuscleTech always finish in the same place – right at the top!

As the Olympia weekend quickly approaches, all eyes were on the Atlantic City Pro – the last chance for bodybuilders to qualify for the O. While for some, it was about simply qualifying for the big show, for others, it was a chance to silence the critics and prove that they will be serious contenders for a top placing at the O. In the end, it was a clean sweep by three Team MuscleTech™ superstars as they locked down the top spots. Melvin Anthony came in with the best package he’s ever displayed on a pro stage. The deadly combination of his massive bis, barndoor back and wasp-like waist ensured Marvelous Melvin his second pro win of his career! His impressive showing is proof that he’s definitely a threat for a top placing at this year’s Olympia. Johnnie Jackson finished a close second behind Melvin. Johnnie’s stacked abs and ridiculously thick upper body pushed him past every contender but one. Johnnie completely dialed everything in after a questionable placing at this year’s Europa show. Darrem Charles earned yet another Olympia qualification by placing third in the overall and demolishing the competition in the Masters category! The win allowed Darrem to continue his dominant streak of winning at least one pro show a year since 2002! Don’t expect these stars to fade out of the limelight. The Atlantic City Pro was hard proof that this year’s Olympia will be littered with Team MuscleTech superstars fighting for top spots! 
After dominating last year’s show, expectations are high for both Helaire and Cordova. With both superstars winning their respective weight classes and Cordova triumphing over Helaire for the overall title, the 2008 edition promises to be the most fiercely contested show yet. This past weekend, more than 30 IFBB Pros stormed Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in Tampa Bay, Florida for the Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Classic. It’s the first of the final group of contests before the 2008 installment of the Mr. Olympia. With only a few Olympia qualifications up for grabs, this show had one of the deepest and most competitive line-ups we’ve seen all summer. But in true Team MuscleTech™ fashion, as the competition heated up, athletes like David Henry, Darrem Charles and Fouad Abiad shone their brightest.

While a large portion of America was busy celebrating the 4th of July weekend, 20 IFBB pro bodybuilders were battling it out for a top spot at the 2008 Houston Pro. At the head of the pack was the scorching-hot Spaniard, Silvio Samuel. Silvio’s deeply etched separations and samurai-carved details proved to be too much for runner-up Craig Richardson to hang with on stage. There’s no denying that Silvio has definitely found a winning secret formula to consistently nail his conditioning each time he hits the stage. Trampling his way into the top three was the best-ever Leo “The Freak” Ingram the bodybuilding world has ever seen. Showcasing peeled granite hardness and notably improved aesthetics Leo picked up his first ticket to the Olympia in September. Although he didn’t grab a top-three finish, Fouad “The Hoss” Abiad made his presence felt to everyone in the building that night. Rumored by some expert bodybuilding analysts to be the most overlooked man on stage, Fouad’s massive X-frame wrapped in paper-thin skin created a strong buzz among all in attendance and established an easily recognizable name for himself that judges will be forced to remember at his next show. The always shredded Darrem Charles brought his superb conditioning to the stage and even made time to go pose for pose with his 18-year-old son, Renel Charles, who ended up winning his division. Case in point – Saturday July 12th, the Canroe Convention Center in Texas was filled with bodybuilders and figure and fitness competitors all vying to walk away the champion of the prestigious, second annual 2008 NPC Branch Warren Classic Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Competition. Featuring all classes of bodybuilding, men and women, teen, novice and masters, figure and fitness, the event also hosted a powerlifting and strongman competition.
